Aakash Nihalani is a New York based street art specialist. A creative mind that loves to play with shapes and create orientations, an optical illusion of depth. There are obtuse figures and isometric figures and all the spatial arrangements that Aakash loves to design. A monotonous place can suddenly be transformed into an interesting one with his 3D street art creations.
He tries to create a new space within the existing space of our everyday world for people to enter freely and somewhat disconnected from our reality. His graphics find home in the most unexpected locations creating some one New York’s most elegant transformations.
He says ‘I work instinctively, trying to follow the gut about the sensation of color and space, and have fun doing it. People need to understand that how it is isn’t how it has to be. My work is created in reaction to what we readily encounter in our lives, sideways and doorways, buildings and bricks. I’m just connecting the dots differently to make my own picture. Others need to see that they can create too, connecting their own dots, in their own places.’
